We answer billing and refund questions first, and questions about a specific figure as fast as we can check it — which sometimes means opening the filing and reading the worksheet, so give us a day.
This is the most useful message you can send us, and we would rather hear it than not. Include the provider's CCN, the fiscal year, the metric, and what you believe the correct figure is. If you have the audited financial statement, say so — that is what we reconcile against, and it is how a figure gets promoted from screened to verified.
Every figure on this site is derived from a cost-report coordinate. A wrong coordinate produces a number that looks entirely reasonable, so a reader who checks one against a source document is doing the thing we cannot do at scale. How we check figures explains what has and has not been verified.
The underlying data is published by CMS from providers' own Medicare cost report filings. We do not originate it and cannot change what was filed. If a filing itself is wrong, that is a matter for the provider and CMS. If we have misread a filing, tell us and we will fix it and say so on the methodology page.
